Discover SETsquared is our open event where you can find out about our business support programme and meet the team. The next event is Thursday 24 March from 4 – 5 pm and includes a talk from Entrepreneur in Residence, Anna-Lisa Wesley and a SETsquared alumni member.

Tech founders or aspiring tech entrepreneurs of all levels and backgrounds are welcome to attend. The event will take place online to be accessible to anyone in the UK and is aimed at non-SETsquared members.

UoB Spin out company Glaia has secured £1 million in new investment in a deal led by Green Angel Syndicate, the UK’s largest network of specialist investors fighting climate change.

The investment will allow the company to commercialise their carbon-based ‘sugar dots’ technology, which reduces emissions from crops by 30% when applied to the plants.

Glaia is led by Dr. David Benito-Alifonso and Dr Imke Sittel, both formerly of the School of Chemistry. Read more in the press release.
